from the amazing mind of WONG KAR WAI
DUDE IS one of my fav directors who probably made my fav movie of all time...IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE
ASHES OF TIME (REDUX)
this movie was made back in the day in 94' and it took FOREVER for WAI to cut...he actually directed another movie....(CHUN-KING EXPRESS, equally dope).....just to get his mind right and revisit the editing mood...in short the filmed bombed when it first released and now WAI has "redux'd" it and made the int'l film community geek out....it was released on my b day in select theatres...peep it if you have a chance.

YES WE DID!

i'm so excited...i really am...for the first time in my life i feel like i am part of the political process and that change ...REAL CHANGE...is possible...the paradigm has shifted and we have a brand new discourse and we can be PART OF IT!

even though we defeated the erratic McCain...i have to say his concession speech was pretty classy...but now there is the POLITICS OF HOPE!

congratulations AMERICA! we have finally made a huge step forward...let unite and move towards progress...because we still have so much work to do...

Why Kobe won't win the MVP
this really hurts, but it really is true...KOBE is so hated...he'll never win...meanwhile these sportswriters, GM's and haters will just take for granted one of the best players to EVER play this game.

from super tuesday to critical tuesday

here we are...the pinnacle, the peak...crunch time...for those not familiar with the political arena this is the 4th quarter and each possession, in this case vote, counts...
i am an OBAMA supporter and i believe if he wins OHIO and TEXAS...two words game over...

OHIO and TEXAS are huge states to win, not only do they lock up the majority of candidates they also set the tone for the presidential race...as MCCAIN is locking up the GOP side, the donkeys are in a for a fight...i do believe that a battle tested democratic nominee will have the drive to finish what they have started...

the first day i have been disgusted as a LAKER FAN
to all LAKER FANS...

if you are a TRUE LAKER FAN...you don't boo your own team...WE ARE NOT THE KNICKS or THE CLIPPERS...live or die, ups and downs you MUST SUPPORT YOUR TEAM! I have never felt more disgusted in my life to be a LAKER FAN...if you truly WANT THIS TEAM to succeed then it is going to have to struggle...INSTEAD OF BOOING HIM how about WE CHEER KWAME ON!...he needs our help, whether you like it or not HE IS A LAKER...KWAME I GOT YOUR BACK!
ESPN: Much of the talk in the Lakers' locker room afterward concerned Kwame Brown, who is filling in for the injured Bynum. Brown felt the wrath of the home crowd in the third quarter, when he missed an open dunk and committed four of his seven turnovers.
Many fans booed Brown every time he touched the ball for several minutes before he came out for good after committing his fifth foul with 3:50 left in the third period. He had eight points and six rebounds.
"I thought it was terrible," said Kobe Bryant, who led the Lakers with 30 points and seven rebounds. "If they want to do that, they can stay home. He's going to be our guy here for two months. He's going to do fine, he's going to play well the next game.
"Kwame's sensitive. You boo him, it's going to affect him. I told him I've got his back."
Other teammates were upset as well.
"That's tough for anybody. For a guy who wants to play the right way, it's even tougher," said Lamar Odom, who had 19 points and matched his career high with 19 rebounds.
"We all stand behind him, we have faith in him," said Jordan Farmar, who scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter. "That's just not right. If you're a Laker fan, you should support your team through the good, the bad, the ugly."
Brown left without speaking to reporters.
LETS PUT THIS GAME BEHIND US AND START A NEW STREAK

on experience vs "change" debate on the 08 elections
CNN.com has an interesting article: Is experience a liability?
Frustration with Washington makes 'experience' a liability
COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) -- If experience were the only qualification, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson would be a shoo-in for president.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is a former congressman, ambassador and energy secretary.
But with frustration with the political system running high and candidates who call for "change" enjoying success on the campaign trail, experience scores few points with voters -- and, in fact, may be a liability.
continue reading more on this article...
this has been my take all along...honestly how can experience placate "change"? does not experience reinforce the status quo? does not experience, particularly in this debate become a liability when you speak of change?
referring to an earlier post regarding HILARY CLINTON does this boost BARACK OBAMA's chances more? if you read into both candidates rhetoric it seems that CLINTON uses her esperience and tehrefore alot of the "I have done this" or "I did that." As opposed to BARACK OBAMA, who's platform "change" carries alot oif "WE believe we can make cahnge" or "If WE unite, we can change WASHINGTON."
it will be interesting to see how both sides employ there strategy on this issue...

score one up for hilary
the race is on!

with OBAMA opening polls for the NEW HAMPSHIRE primary by a nine point margin...CLINTON comes back to edge OBAMA in NEW HAMPSHIRE.
to be rather subjective( my subjectivity goes so far as the democratic side): the democratic election is a two way race between OBAMA and CLINTON. it will be interesting to see how this plays out, especially since CLINTON will be approaching her most favored states...
and how will OBAMA respond?
~currently i give a slight edge to OBAMA for my vote...he has separated himself as a new type of "change"(the panaceic word these days for the elections) but i also give CLINTON a lot of credit...she is a force to be reckon with...
given the historic magnitude of this election it is interesting to see how race and gender will play out, given that the premiere candidates on the democratic side are BARACK OBAMA and HILARY CLINTON... a couple of blogs back i referenced race on this issue in regards to OBAMA's win in the IOWA CAUCUS. Now that Hilary won, how does gender play?
if HILARY CLINTON had two years experience and was running for the Presidential Nomination would she receive the same regard as BARACK OBAMA has? and because she is a woman, does her aggressive campaign and fearlessness give voters the perception that she is a "bitch"? or any typical stereotypes that we bring upon women?
however this plays out, we must continue to monitor and document these historical candidates and more importantly recognize that:
it truly is an exciting time!
visuals:

keeping up with the CLINTON'S

how sweet it is...

reason # 4532 to visit Japan

KAMIOKA OBSERVATORY - JAPAN
~Located 1,000 m underground in the Mozumi Mine it consists of a cylindrical stainless steel tank 41.4 m tall and 39.3 m in diameter enclosing 50,000 tons of ultra-purified water. The clever people built the machine to detect neutrinos, proton decay and cosmic rays: this is done using the 12′000-ish photomultiplier tubes (extremely sensitive light detectors) visible on all walls of the 'ultra-purified water-filled' tank.
